FAQs
We enhance smiles with expert care
At what age should my child visit an orthodontist for the first time?
The first orthodontic evaluation is recommended around the age of 6–7, when permanent teeth begin to erupt. This allows us to detect any potential issues early and intervene preventively if necessary.
Is it ever “too late” to get braces?
Never! Orthodontic treatment can be performed at any age, as long as the teeth and gums are healthy. Modern techniques offer discreet and comfortable solutions even for adults.
Is orthodontic treatment painful?
No, the process is not painful. Some mild discomfort may occur during the first few days of adjustment, but it quickly subsides. Modern techniques and materials have made treatment far more comfortable than in the past.
How long does orthodontic treatment last?
The duration depends on the type and complexity of each case. Typically, treatment lasts between 12 and 24 months, while simpler cases may be completed in a shorter period of time.
What is the difference between metal and clear braces?
Metal braces are the classic, reliable option, while clear braces offer the same effectiveness with a more discreet appearance. Both options are safe and effective and are chosen based on the patient’s needs and preferences.
What are clear aligners?
They are removable, transparent trays that gradually move the teeth into the correct position. They are almost invisible, comfortable, and ideal for those who want a discreet treatment without braces.
Should we do something if a child’s baby teeth start to become crowded or crooked?
Not always, but an evaluation is important. In some cases, early preventive treatment with orthopedic appliances can properly guide development and help avoid future difficulties.
